You are here: Free & Low-Cost Legal Help > Lawyers, Government Agencies, Nonprofit Groups > Help With Many Kinds of Problems
These groups can help you with many different kinds of problems.
Lawyer Referral Services. Lawyer referral services help people find lawyers. They keep lists of attorneys who will meet with you once to discuss your case. They won't charge you very much-usually $20 to 45. The lawyer will explain the services she or he can offer you and how much you can expect to pay. Some attorneys lower their fees for people who do not have very much money. Some lawyers will help you with key parts of your case and let you do the rest. They can also tell you about free or low-cost legal services for people who qualify.

Local Bar Associations. Many local lawyers' associations help people find free legal services. They have lists of attorneys who give free legal help to people with very low income.
Click here to find the bar associations in your area and type your county or region in the search box.
They will ask you about your case and how much money you earn. If they don't have free services, or if they can't help you, ask them who can.
If you can't find your local bar association on these Web sites, check the yellow pages of your local telephone book. Look under "Associations."
